Two Sharons, one very full car
We built a potion room above a chocolate shop on the Plymouth Barbican, ran parties in it for years, and have now packed the whole thing into the back of a car so it can come to you instead.
Who we are
Wiz Parties is Sharon Trevethan and Sharon Vincent. Yes, both Sharon. It causes fewer problems than you would expect and it is the first joke of most parties.
We have been running events together since 2016. Before Wiz Parties there was The Chocolate Box, our shop on the Barbican, and upstairs from it a room we spent a long time turning into something worth walking into: dark shelves, hundreds of bottles collected from car boots and charity shops, dried flowers hanging from the ceiling, a proper apothecary counter.
Children who came up those stairs stopped talking for a second when they saw it. That reaction is the entire business.
The shop is winding down now, so the room comes to you. Every shelf, every bottle, the backdrops, the lighting, the lot. It takes an hour to put up and we have got quite good at it.
Sharon Trevethan teaches the wizard sessions, under the name Enchantress Eleana, and holds an enhanced DBS. Sharon Vincent runs the bench, the timings and the bit where thirty things have to happen at once. Between us there is always one person watching the room and one person watching the clock.

The boring but important part
You are handing a room full of children to two people you found on the internet. Here is what backs that up.
Enhanced DBS
Sharon Trevethan holds an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Ask and we will send you a copy before you pay anything.
£5 million public liability
Full cover, which most halls and all schools will want to see. The certificate goes out with the booking confirmation as standard.
Since 2016
Nine years of running events, first in the shop and now on the road. We have done birthdays, schools, hubs, fetes and festivals.

How we think about a party
Two rules, and everything else follows from them.
Nobody sits and watches. The fastest way to lose a room of eight-year-olds is to make half of them queue. So every child has their own place, their own kit and their own thing to do, from about four minutes in. That is why there are two of us and why we cap the numbers.
They take something real home. Not a certificate, not a sticker. A thing they made, in a bag they decorated, that still exists on a shelf at Christmas. It costs us more and it is the whole point.
The rest is logistics: turn up early, work quickly, be cheerful, sweep the floor, leave.
What we are not
Worth saying plainly, so nobody books us expecting something else.
- We are not caterers. Food, cake and drinks are yours.
- We do not hire out a venue. You choose the room, we come to it.
- We are not a bouncy castle or a disco. It is ninety minutes of making things.
- We are two people, not an agency. If you ring, you get one of us.
Wiz Parties is new as a name. The people, the props and the parties are not, and if you want to see the room before you book, ring us and we will send you more photos than you want.
Got a date in mind?
Tell us the date, the ages and roughly how many, and we will come back to you the same day with what we can do.
- Everything arrives with us. You provide the room and the cake
- Set up an hour before, and we tidy up afterwards
- £5 million public liability and an enhanced DBS
- Answering the phone every day, 9am to 8pm
