Slime Lab parties

Lab coats, goggles and slime stretched until it goes see-through and starts popping. Themed around whatever your child is currently obsessed with, and yes, they take a tub home.

Slime, done properly

There is slime you buy in a tub and slime you make yourself, and children can tell the difference immediately. This is the second kind.

Everyone gets a lab coat and a pair of goggles, which is half the fun before anything has happened. Then they mix their own from scratch: base, colour, and then the decisions. How much glitter. Foam beads or not. Whether it should be the stretchy kind that goes translucent, or the thick kind that cracks when you press it.

Once it works, they play. That sounds like filler and it is not: stretching a good slime across a table and listening to it pop is genuinely the point, and they will do it for twenty minutes without looking up.

We theme it. Tell us what your child is into and we build the party round it. Minecraft, dinosaurs, K-pop, a particular colour, a particular football team. It costs nothing extra and it makes the whole thing feel like it was made for them, because it was.

Everything goes home in a sealed tub inside a bag they decorated.

Send us the theme when you book. A week's notice is plenty. Even the morning of the party we will usually manage something.

Stretchy, translucent and loud. The good kind.

A note on these three pictures: Slime Lab is newer than our wizard parties and we have not photographed one properly yet, so these were made to show the set-up and the finished tubs accurately. Every other photograph on this site was taken at a real party of ours.

Slime questions, mostly from parents

Does it come out of carpet?

Usually, with warm water and patience. We would still rather not test it, so we sheet the floor under the tables and ask that the slime stays in the working area. If your hall has strict rules, tell us and we will tighten up how we run it.

Is it safe? What is actually in it?

It is a PVA-based slime, the standard kind, and we make it fresh at the table so you can see exactly what goes in. It is not for eating, and we say so. If a child has a latex or fragrance sensitivity let us know when you book and we will adjust.

How long does the slime last?

Sealed in the tub, a few weeks. Left on a radiator, one afternoon. We send them home with a card that explains how to keep it going, which buys you a bit more peace.

Can we do it at home rather than a hall?

Yes, and plenty do. A kitchen table works. We bring covers and take the mess with us.

Got a date in mind?

Tell us the date, the ages and roughly how many, and we will come back to you the same day with what we can do.
