How booking online works

Choose your party, pick a date and time from the calendar, fill in your details and pay. Your date is not held until the payment goes through.

When you press the button we hold that slot for you for 40 minutes while you pay, so nobody can take it from under you. If you do not finish paying inside that window the slot is released automatically and nothing is charged.

Once payment succeeds you get a confirmation email straight away with a reference that starts BK. Quote it if you ring us about your booking. If your card goes through but you close the tab before coming back, do not worry: our system checks for that and confirms you within a few minutes.

You can also just ring or text. Booking online is an option, not the only way in.

Payment

Card payments are handled by Stripe, on Wiz Parties' own Stripe account. You are taken to a Stripe checkout page to pay.

• Your card details go directly to Stripe. We never see them and they are never stored on this website.
• Payment is taken in full at the time of booking unless we have agreed something different with you in writing.
• Stripe may carry out a 3D Secure check with your bank. That is your bank's step, not ours.
• Your card statement will show Wiz Parties.
• Refunds, where they are due, are made back to the same card through Stripe. Banks usually take five to ten working days to show it.

If online payment is not available for some reason, the booking page will tell you honestly rather than failing silently, and you can ring us instead.

Prices

Children's parties are £199 for up to ten children and £15 for each child after that. Potion making is £20 a head with a minimum of 8. Chocolate tasting is £30 a head with a minimum of 8. Life drawing is £75 a party regardless of size, or £60 for a costumed-only session.

Prices shown on this website are pulled directly from our booking system, so what you see is what you pay. Prices can change for future bookings, but never after you have booked: the price you paid is the price, and we will not come back for more.

Travel is included anywhere on our areas list. Beyond it we will quote separately before you commit to anything.

Extra children and extra charges

If the number of children goes up after you have booked, we will add the difference at the same per-child rate. We do this by sending you a separate secure payment link, which is valid for 24 hours, or you can settle it with us on the day. We cannot and do not charge your card again on our own. Any additional payment needs you to actively make it.

Changing or cancelling

• More than 14 days before the party: we will move you to another date free of charge, or refund you in full.
• 14 days or less: we cannot refund, because by then the ingredients and consumables are bought and the date has been turned down for others. We will still try to move you if we possibly can.
• If we cancel: you get everything you have paid back, in full, straight away. If we can find you another date you like, we will.

We can also reschedule your booking or change the headcount at your request. You will get an email confirming the new details.

Your right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to change your mind about something bought online. That right does not apply to services booked for a specific date, which is what a party is, so the terms above are what govern your booking. None of this affects your legal rights if something goes wrong with the service itself.

On the day

We arrive around an hour before the start time to set up, and need about half an hour afterwards to pack down. Please make sure the room is available for that whole window and that we can get reasonably close to unload.

You need to provide table space, a plug socket and at least one responsible adult present for the whole session. The children stay in your care throughout: we run the activity, we are not acting as childcare.

If we arrive and the room genuinely cannot be used for the party as described, and we have not been told in advance, we may not be able to run it. We will always try. A refund would not be due in that situation.

Safety, mess and damage

The activities involve liquids, colours and glitter. We cover tables and put sheeting down, and we clear up before we leave, but party clothes are a bad idea and we would not recommend a brand new white top.

Potions and slime are not food and must not be eaten. We say this to the children at the start and again at the end. Once they leave with them, supervision is yours.

We carry £5 million public liability insurance and Sharon Trevethan holds an enhanced DBS check. Both certificates are sent with your booking confirmation, and we will send them earlier on request.

We are not responsible for damage to a venue caused by guests outside the activity we are running. If your venue has particular rules, such as no glitter or no liquids, tell us before the day and we will adapt.

Allergies and additional needs

Tell us when you book. We will send the ingredient list for your chosen party, and we can drop or swap the food elements at no cost. We cannot take responsibility for a reaction to something we were not told about.

Photographs

We do not photograph your party unless you ask. If we do take pictures and would like to use one, we will ask you in writing afterwards, and no is a perfectly good answer. See the privacy notice.

Weather and things outside anyone's control

If severe weather, illness, a breakdown or something similar stops us getting to you, we will refund everything you have paid or move the date, whichever you prefer. We are not liable for other costs you may have incurred, such as a hall hire or catering.
